How did you get into design?

Down at our local pub we got chatting about what made us want to be part of the design world. It was really interesting hearing all the different moments in our lives, and the things that influenced our decisions, so we thought we’d share our stories with you. We’d love to hear your stories too.

NIGEL RITCHIE – CREATIVE DIRECTOR

My first introduction to design was probably visiting my Dad’s drawing office (he was an aeronautical design engineer) and when I was young drawing was a good escape from village life. My first real encounter with design though was through my love of music and in particular album covers. I still remember buying Dark Side of The Moon and marvelling at its sheer simplicity and beauty….I later learnt that this was, in fact, graphic design and you could get paid to do it.
